Doron Friedman on FB:

Is VR genuine reality? It was a great honor to take part in a scientific-philosophical VR discussion with three brilliant minds: David Chalmers, Albert Einstein, and Mel Slater. A documentation of this very special live demo is in progress; in the meantime here is a teaser:

more details: At the conference XR for the People (
https://www.eventer.co.il/xrs ) there was a panel session between Prof. David Chalmers (New York University) who was in Australia, Prof. Doron Friedman (Reichman University, Israel), and Prof Mel Slater (University of Barcelona). The session took place using VR United, a multi-participant VR system developed at the Event Lab, University of Barcelona, by Dr Ramon Oliva as part of the ERC MoTIVE project (https://www.motiverc.org). The panel was also attended by a GPT3 language-model controlled Prof. Albert Einstein which was designed and implemented by Prof. Doron Friedman and Alon Shoa of Reichman University, and the event was produced by Maya Shekel of Reichman University. The moderator was Prof. Jeremy Fogel (Tel Aviv) who acted as the interface between the physical audience and the panel. He was facing the physical audience and simultaneously in the VR where he could speak to the panelists, who could therefore hear what was going on in the real theatre. This event was developed as part of the GuestXR project (https://guestxr.eu). The GuestXR project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 101017884.
