GitHub survey finds 92% of programmers are using AI tools

The survey, conducted by Wakefield Research, a Virginia-based PR polling firm, also discovered that 70% of respondents saw benefits from using these tools, including improved code quality, faster outputs, and fewer production-level incidents

Interestingly, the survey found that while many developers are using AI tools to augment their work, there are indications that these tools could potentially replace some roles, with almost 4,000 jobs lost due to artificial intelligence in May. Despite this, new research from Stanford University and MIT showed that the use of AI, such as ChatGPT, can lead to increased productivity, particularly among less skilled workers.
